Clarice Jackson is an Ordained Minister and the Founder of Voice Advocacy Center, serving children by providing dyslexia screening, tutoring, and special education advocacy services for families of children in Special Ed. Ms. Jackson is the Founder of Decoding Dyslexia Nebraska, a Chapter of a Nationwide Parent Support Group created to raise awareness around the subject of dyslexia. Clarice studied Business Communications at Bellevue University, Nebraska, and is trained in both The Spalding Method and the The Barton Reading and Spelling System. She has been nationally recognized as a recipient of the prestigious 100 National Coalition of Black Women Education Reform award. As the Former Education Chair of the Omaha NAACP, her resolution to promote Dyslexia Awareness and Advocacy was adopted by both the National NAACP and the Congressional Black Caucus. Her professional affiliations include: Chair of the City of Omaha’s Mayor’s Human Rights and Relations Board, President of the Learning Disabilities Association of NE chapter and a board member of the National Center on Improving Literacy, Nebraska Health and Human Services Developmental Disabilities Awareness Planning Council and the Phoenix Academy Private School. Clarice is an Academic Advisory Council Member for Nelson Mandela Elementary School.
