Linda Atamian
Linda Atamian received her B.A. degree in elementary education and social sciences and her M.A. in reading from The University of Rhode Island. Since 1973, she has dedicated her career to teaching students and teachers from PreK- High School. At the Hamilton School at Wheeler, she taught second graders with dyslexia for 14 years. At the Middlebridge School, she served as Director of Remedial Services and worked with complex learners. As an Accredited Fellow with the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners & Educators (AOGPE), she offers courses and supervised practicums at the Classroom Educator, Associate, and Certified levels. She is a member of the AOGPE board and the Standards Committee. Linda is also certified through IDA as a Structured Literacy/Dyslexia Specialist. Linda was awarded The Rhode Island Branch of the International Dyslexia Association 2009 Leadership and Literacy Award. In 2017, she was a contributing author to the book Helping Children on their Way: Educational Support for the Classroom with a chapter on “Reading and Writing.”
